The fuel economy for 2017 isn't available but 2016s numbers are 21 mpg combined with 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The SEL and Limited models have an available all-wheel drive that makes the fuel economy 19 mpg combined with 17 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway. There is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine option. It is powered by an engine with 270 pound-feet of torque and 240 horsepower and is front-wheel drive. The fuel economy is 23 mpg combined with 20 in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. The SHO trim level has the turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine that is rated at 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. It comes standard with all-wheel drive and the fuel economy is 19 mpg combined with 16 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway.  

Design of Ford Taurus

This large sedan fits five passengers. It comes in four trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, and SHO. The base trim adds 18-inch wheels, LED taillights, automatic headlights, integrated blind-spot mirrors, keyless-access keypad, six-way power-adjustable front seats, 60/40-split folding rear seatbacks, a rearview camera, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, Sync voice controls, and a six-speaker sound system. The Limited is the most luxurious trim with a package called the Equipment Group 201A that adds keyless entry and ignition, an additional center speaker, power-adjustable pedals, and the Sync 3 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen. The SHO is the sporty trim with a sport-tuned suspension, performance engine, 20-inch wheels, xenon headlights, a rear spoiler, leather upholstery and interior trim, and steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles. The SHO Performance package adds summer tires, upgraded brake pads, stiffer suspension, unique steering tuning, and an enhanced stability control system with a Track mode.
